The Kanizsa Open 2026 – International Chess Tournament and Hungarian Open Championship continues its remarkable growth. We are delighted to announce that more than 350 players have already registered, representing 38 countries from around the world.
For 100 years, the Nagykanizsa Chess Club has been shaping Hungarian chess. Entering its centenary, the club stands alone as the country’s most successful Super League team, having won a record 18 national championships, including an unprecedented 17 consecutive titles, culminating in the 2025/26 season. Kanizsa Open 2026 continues this legacy by bringing together elite players from across the world.
