This tournament will be played according to the Swiss System in 10 rounds, from July 5th to July 14th, 2026. The pairings will be made with an accelerated system for the first 5 rounds according to the Baku regulations (C04.7 FIDE Handbook). The tournament is valid for international norms, as well as for FIDE rating.

Time Control
The rate of play will be 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from the first move.

Byes (Rest Days)
There will be free days if requested by the players. At the round requested, the player shall not be paired and no points shall be awarded. They must be requested to the arbiters’ team or the organizers in writing, and must include both the bye request and the player’s signature. Byes for the 1st and 2nd round must be requested before the 1st round in writing to the official e-mail address. For the rest of the rounds, the bye for a particular game may be requested before 8:00 pm on the day of the previous round.

Pairings
Round pairings will be published 6 hours before the start of the next round. Pairings will be posted in Hotel Aneto and in the playing hall (Benasque Sports Hall) as soon as possible. Besides, all information will be published at the official tournament website www.openajedrezbenasque.com. Pairings will be made with the program Vega and/or Swiss Manager. They will be also published on the website of ChessManager.
