The total prize money for the 2025 edition is 33,700 Euros, plus trophies in kind to be determined by the sponsors.

The Llobregat Open Chess Tournament is an open tournament authorized and approved by the Federació Catalana d’Escacsvalid for the INTERNATIONAL ELO y INTERNATIONAL ELO AND OBTAINING INTERNATIONAL TITLE RULES which will take place between November 28th and December 8th, 2025.

The fifth edition will be held in the city of Sant Boi de Llobregat, located in the Baix Llobregat region of Barcelona. It will be organized by the editor of El Llobregat, Xavier Pérez Llorca, and the technical direction of the refereeing team led by Hernan Siludakis.

Our fourth edition, as was the third edition, has been has been considered by the Spanish Chess Federation (FEDA) and the Consejo Superior de Deportes (Superior Sports Council) as the Best tournament in Spain.

Приказом Министра туризма и спорта РК от 27 июня 2025 года внесены изменения в Спортивную этику. Документ изложен в новой редакции и обязателен к соблюдению всеми участниками спортивного процесса, включая спортсменов, тренеров, тренеров-преподавателей и спортивных судей.

Спортсмены, тренеры, тренеры-преподаватели и спортивные судьи:

не допускают случаев антиобщественного поведения, в том числе нахождения в общественных местах в состоянии алкогольного, наркотического или токсикоманического опьянения, оскорбляющем человеческое достоинство и общественную нравственность;
соблюдают принципы честной игры и добросовестной спортивной состязательности;
уважительно относятся к представителям национальных команд, соперникам, зрителям и организаторам спортивных соревнований на спортивных мероприятиях;
уважают права и достоинства других спортсменов, волонтеров, а также не допускают в их сторону дискриминации и воздерживаются от политических демонстраций в местах проведения спортивных мероприятий и церемоний награждения;
избегают конфликтных ситуаций, которые могут нанести ущерб своей спортивной репутации;
бережно и уважительно относятся к Государственному Гербу РК, Государственному Флагу РК, Государственному Гимну РК, а также государственным символам стран-участников спортивных соревнований;
знают музыкальную редакцию, текст Государственного Гимна РК;
при исполнении Государственного Гимна РК придерживаются этических норм Спортивной этики;
уважительно относятся к судейскому решению и воздерживаются от публичных споров;
бережно и уважительно относятся к спортивным наградам (кубкам, медалям, грамотам и дипломам), полученным по итогам спортивных соревнований;
участвуют в церемонии награждения на спортивных соревнованиях;
на спортивных соревнованиях, во время церемонии награждения, в период официального фотографирования и работы с масс-медиа находятся в спортивной форме национальной команды РК по виду спорта или своего спортивного клуба;
уважительно относятся к работе представителей масс-медиа, освещающих спортивное мероприятие;
выступают в качестве примера для подражания другим спортсменам;
соблюдают положение (регламент) спортивных соревнований.

Спортсменами, тренерами, тренерами-преподавателями и спортивными судьями не допускаются:

разглашение информации, имеющей отношение к учебно-тренировочному процессу;
использование нецензурной брани, ненормативной лексики и оскорбительных жестов во время или после спортивного мероприятия;
действие или поведение, беспричинно нарушающее или являющееся вмешательством в ход спортивных соревнований или учебно-тренировочных сборов, либо негативно влияющее на репутацию или имидж РК;
угрозы какому-либо лицу перед, во время или после проведения спортивного мероприятия в письменной или устной форме, включая язык жестов и мимику;
открытая демонстрация своих религиозных убеждений в команде и принуждение других лиц к участию в деятельности религиозных объединений, занятиях миссионерской деятельностью.

Личные тренеры, тренеры-преподаватели обеспечивают знание спортсменами Государственного гимна РК.

Указывается, что руководители физкультурно-спортивных организаций обеспечивают размещение текста Спортивной этики в физкультурно-спортивных организациях, физкультурно-оздоровительных и спортивных сооружениях на видном месте.

Предусматривается, что физкультурно-спортивная организация в день заключения трудового договора и договора о спортивной деятельности с тренером, тренером-преподавателем, судьей, а также в день зачисления спортсмена в физкультурно-спортивную организацию ознакомляет их в письменной форме с текстом Спортивной этики.

Приказ вводится в действие с 19 июля 2025 года.

18-28 июня этого года в Ташкенте соберутся сильнейшие гроссмейстеры и молодые таланты из разных стран мира.

Турнир будет проходить в 4 группах:

Лучшие шахматисты с рейтингом 2700 и выше в группе Мастерс;
В группу «Претенденты» входят шахматисты с рейтингом 2600 и выше;

1-6 марта состоится международный шахматный турнир, посвященный памяти известного общественно-политического деятеля, члена Национального Собрания четырех cозывов Ганиры Пашаевой, организованный Федерацией шахмат Азербайджана, Общественным союзом «Нафас» и шахматной школой «Мамедьяровлар».

Турнир, который будет организован во второй раз, совпадает с канун 50-летия общественно-политического деятеля Ганиры Пашаевой.

Азербайджан на турнире представят Гюнай Мамадзаде, Говхар Бейдуллаева, Ульвия Фаталиева, Гульнар Мамедова, Ханым Баладжаева и Туркан Маммадьярова. Одновременно в турнире примут участие Нилуфар Якуббоева (Узбекистан), Асель Серикбай (Казахстан), Гуленай Айдын (Турция) и Нургуль Салимова (Болгария).

Международный шахматный турнир пройдет в зале «Ротонда» отеля Landmark. Церемония открытия турнира состоится 2 марта. Турнир будет организован по рапиду и блицу. Победитель будет определен по сумме результатов в обоих видах.

Фаиг Гасанов будет главным судьей престижного турнира.

Отметим, что общий призовой фонд турнира, проводимого при основной спонсорской поддержке Общественного союза «Дыхание», составляет 30 000 манат (около 18 000$ ).

13 – 17 December 2024

The FIDE and the Slovenian Chess Federation invite all FIDE member federations and
eligible players to participate in the World Youth Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships
2024 for participants aged under 14, 16, and 18 years.

The Championships will take place between 13 (arrivals) and 17 (departures) December 2024.
The event is to be held in the Terme Čatež hotel venue (Terme Čatež d.d., Topliška 35,
SI-8250 Brežice, Slovenia)

Participation:

Players representing chess federations which are FIDE members have the right to
participate. They shall not have reached the age of 14, 16, or 18 before January 1st of the
year in which the tournament is held:

• Under 14 (open & girls), player‘s date of: 1 January 2010 and after;
• Under 16 (open & girls), player‘s date of: 1 January 2008 and after;
• Under 18 (open & girls), player‘s date of: 1 January 2006 and after;

There is no limit to the number of participants representing each federation. FIDE-affiliated organizations, as approved by the FIDE Council, also have the right to register
players. FIDE-endorsed Chess Academies may also register players through their respective National Chess Federation (NCF) with a copy to TRG for endorsement.

The Champions of the 2023 World Youth Rapid and Blitz Championships have the
personal right to participate in the World Youth Rapid and Blitz Championships in the corresponding age category or a higher age category, provided they meet the age requirements. Free accommodation and full board will be provided to all personal right players
(12 players in total) from December 13 (dinner) to December 17 (breakfast), sharing a
double room.

Вчера в одном из моих любимых городов Казахстана (г. Шымкент) прошло открытие женского этапа Гран-При FIDE.

Рада, что шахматы в стране развиваются и мы организовываем такие элитные турниры.

Но, пост, к сожалению, не об этом. Сегодня наткнулась на рилс @alga_peterburg с открытия турнира, где он спрашивает у исполнительного директора Федерации Шахмат РК Гульмиры Даулетовой, было ли такое, чтобы кто-то из казахстанских спортсменок выигрывал этап женского Гран-При? На что Гульмира отвечает, « — таких результатов у нас еще не было…».

Regulations

This competition will be organized on the morning of 21st November 2024, during the free day of the WCCC 2024, at the same six categories of age and gender as the over-the-board competitions:

U8 (same set of 6 problems for open and girls): 5 problems of mate in 2 moves, 1 study (endgame);

U10 (same set of 6 problems for open and girls): 4 problems of mate in 2 moves, 1 problem of mate in 3 moves, 1 study (endgame);

U12 (same set of 6 problems for open and girls): 4 problems of mate in 2 moves, 1 problem of mate in 3 moves, 1 study (endgame)

For each category, the time of 60 minutes is allotted for solving.

Participants are allowed to move pieces while solving. A solver may use the chess set(s) made available by the organizer, or his/her own set(s).

At the same number of points, the 1st tie-break will be the shorter time used for solving. The 2nd tie-break will be the younger age.

There will be separate standings for open and girls. If a girl wants to compete in the open section, she has to announce this before the tournament.

The number of participants per country is not limited.

Even if the categories would not be scheduled simultaneously, a participant can compete in one category only.

A solver may leave the solving hall only after finishing solving and handing in his solving sheet.

The use of all electronic or technological aids that can help in solving is forbidden, as well as any other kind of unfair behavior.

The solutions are to be written in algebraic notation. It is unacceptable to do it by drawing arrows on diagrams, instead of writing the moves.

A detailed set of regulations and instructions for the solvers will be published on the official site in due time.

Annex: Instructions about writing solutions

Each solution starts with a move of White.

Participants are allowed to move pieces on the board while solving.

For two-movers, only the first move of White is written.

For three movers, one should write the first move, the threat (if any), all black defenses, and the second move of White. Writing only the first move of White is not enough to get any point. It is not necessary to list short variations, in which white mates in 2 instead of 3 moves.

In studies, all moves are written until there is a clear win or a draw, depending on what is required in the study.

Each problem carries 5 points. In two moves, only the first move is scored. In three-movers, the threat (if any) and all variations are scored. In studies, only white moves are scored; the closer you get to the final position, the more points you get. Only one, the main variation is scored.

Classical, abbreviated notation is used. Each participant may use a symbol for a given piece, the initial letter of the name of that piece in his (her) own language, or other languages at his (her) choice. Drawing arrows instead of writing will not be acceptable. There will be a field on the answers sheet where he (she) can specify which symbol he (she) is using for each piece.

If two pieces of the same type can come to the same square, it is important to indicate which of the two is in question.

The problems do not have to be solved in order. If someone thinks he (she) has finished before the time is up, he (she) can hand over the sheet with answers, and he (she) will be told how much time has passed.

Time is the first tie-breaker. So, if two solvers have the same number of points, the one who spent less time has the better placement, and if time also is even, the younger competitor will have the advantage.

The 45th Chess Olympiad is around the corner, and FIDE, in collaboration with the Hungarian Chess Federation, is pleased to announce the Olympiad Expo Classic, an International Open Chess Tournament that will take place alongside the Olympiad from September 12 to 21, 2024, in Budapest, Hungary.

Venue: BOK «C» Sports Hall, 1146 Budapest, Dózsa György utca 1
Tournament Type: Swiss system, 9 rounds, standard FIDE rules, computer pairings (Swiss Manager)
Time Control: 90 minutes + 30 seconds per move per player
Tie-Breaks: Buchholz Cut 1, Buchholz, Berger-Sonneborn, Progressive
