The 2nd International Chess Festival “Guba Open 2026” Dedicated to the Memory of Qudrat Ismayilov
The 2nd International Chess Festival “Guba Open 2026”, jointly organized by the Azerbaijan Chess Federation and the “Ag Top” Chess Club, will be held in Guba, Azerbaijan, from 3–10 September 2026.
The festival program includes:
🔹 Group A (Rated 1900+ Elo)
🔹 Group B (Rated up to 1899 Elo)
🔹 Group C (Under 12 years old)
🔹 Rapid Tournament
🔹 Blitz Tournament
♟ The festival features a total prize fund of AZN 24,420.
The festival is dedicated to the cherished memory of Gudrat Ismayilov, an International Arbiter who devoted his life to chess. Through his outstanding contribution to introducing hundreds of children and young people to the game, establishing the Guba chess school, and promoting chess traditions throughout the region, he left a lasting legacy in Azerbaijani chess.
